The House

Let's begin with Patrick's re-creation of Jim's picture building their current home in 1991. Here we are 25 years later. We couldn't exactly duplicate the bright white shoes, so bags had to suffice.

I started scoping out the area and had my eye on this house in this neighborhood for a year. When it was time to make decisions, I showed it to Patrick and that was that. It's located at the highest part of Parker with views from Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs all the way north to the skyline of downtown Denver. And the floor plan of the house is even better. Such efficient use of space in all the right places. We are so ready to own a home and be done with renting!

Well, we got off to a real rocky start. Extremely rocky. Right after we signed our contract, the entire management team quit. So they had no one to build our house. After 5 months of nothing happening, the new team started on our house and made numerous mistakes on the foundation and miscalculated the driveway. This took another 6 weeks to repair and finally we could get underway.

 Because of the lot elevation, the garage has 14 foot ceilings!
