Aislin has become quite the independent reader! She finished her second chapter book, reading to herself. After 14 years of reading aloud to kids, that job is complete!
Throughout the year, about 20 of Ayden's church friends had been gathering once or twice a month for an organized get together. It was our turn to host in June. We had pizza, snacks, a corn hole tournament and bottomless cotton candy.
Teenagers are crazy. Everyone survived. It was a success.
The the kids and I drove over to Utah for the week to hang and attend the Parade of Homes.
Swimming at Nicole's Aunt's house. Gavin's diving skills are impressive.
Gavin, in his endless quest for money, painted the fence and sanded and stained the bench and picnic table. He did a great job and learned some new skills.
The kids headed to Nana Camp after the weekend of the 4th (which was even more anticipated after our family trip to Florida was canceled). The rain finally stopped and it heated up so it felt like summer camp! The kids love to go and we love the kids to go! They get spoiled by Nana and PopPop and I get spoiled at home getting projects done and having some time to myself and with Patrick.
These are some lucky kids!
The kids continued with their geocaching this year: finding old ones, replenishing, and making new ones.
They took a trip to Old Trail Town.
They made bracelets and learned to crochet.
They also learned how to play pickle ball and then challenged us when we came to pick them up. They were pretty good!
While the kids were at Nana Camp, Patrick and I drove up to a film festival showcasing Matthew's film: "The Counterfeit Kid." He won Best Wyoming Picture.
The kids had a blast at camp and we had a relaxing week at home.
