This year we are finally able to enjoy Fall weather after four years of summer and we are loving it! Last weekend we took a trip to a small town near by to explore mother nature in Ohio. We stopped by a dairy farm, orchards, and hiked/walked a nature trail. It was a perfect Fall day and we made the most of it.
There was a large pumpkin patch at the dairy farm. And this was actually a real pumpkin patch not a bunch of pumpkins cut and grouped together. Patrick had clippers and we went wandering to find the perfect pumpkin. Well, Patrick found the pumpkin while Ayden got side tracked by all the options. She was pretty excited when we go there after the wagon ride.
She loved every pumpkin and hugged each one as we went along. Needless to say, she was no help in making a decision.
Finally, Patrick cut the chosen one loose and Ayden was not very happy about leaving.
This is Gus, the biggest pumpkin grown on the farm. Ayden gave it some love too.
Sitting on Gus.
The Young's Dairy Farm makes their own ice cream and it was so creamy delicious!
They had animals on the farm to pet. Ayden couldn't decide if she hated it or loved it.
We also enjoyed the beautiful scenery in the nature preserve, the Glen. There is a river and a spring, plus miles of trails in the forest.
The spring that has a high content of iron making the rock orange/yellow...the reason the town is called Yellow Springs.
So far we are loving our time in Ohio...but ask me again in the winter.

So fun. Wish I were there. It's Fall here too...a lovely 78 degrees. We've got the windows open and the cinnamon-scented oil burning!! Miss you guys, but looks like you're having a god time. :)
Ayden is a doll!! Your scenery pictures are beautiful!
Love Aunt Sharon
