My best friend from childhood, Lisa, dad passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's. He was an Air Force Academy grad and wanted to be buried at the Academy here in Colorado. Lisa and Aaron and Scott (Lisa's brother) came out for the funeral but that was all in attendance. I was able to be there for support along with one of Aaron's childhood friends. A few of Ron's graduating class members heard about the funeral and came for additional support. It was a small but emotional service.
The kids honored Patrick at their school Veteran's Day assembly.
