RMNP with the Taggarts

We like to spend a weekend at Estes Park and RMNP about every other year and since Patrick's best friend now lives in Colorado, we invited them to come along. I finally booked enough in advance, so we stayed at the expansive YMCA.
We made a quick stop first at the Stanley hotel.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner by the river.

The next day we got an early start in the sunshine before the afternoon clouds roll in.

We did the 3 lake hike.

The kids climbed a lot of rocks.

Last time we hiked to this lake we got caught in a thunderstorm, so it was nice to enjoy this time.

Bear Lake is always pretty.

Gavin was excited to finally have some boys to hang out with but all the kids got along great and had fun exploring together.

These were the prettiest flowers.

The guys took the kids hiking up the Alluvial Fan.
(they are on the top, left rock)
Stacy and I stayed at the bottom with Theo.

We've never been in June so it was colder than we are used to, but was interesting to see the park in transition to summer.

We drove up to the tundra region and the clouds were putting on a show!

The mountain tops barely peaking out of the clouds across the divide.

The scenery never fails to impress.
We are so glad the Taggart's a closer and always have a blast hanging out.
Hope we can do it again!
