CR: Nauyaca Waterfalls

This is the most beautiful place in Costa Rica and maybe the most beautiful waterfall in the world. We hiked the long and steep trail up to the falls while Zach pushed the car to its limits driving up Mom and the kids. Definitely worth it!
There was an upper and lower falls. The upper falls is seen at the top of this picture, flowing into the lower cascading falls.

 The upper falls.

The lower falls emptied into a deep pool, good for swimming and jumping.

The current was quite strong, making swimming up to the falls difficult. Dad was one of the first to make it!

 Zach diving.

And then standing directly under the middle of the falls.

Jill and I swam up to the falls as well.
(see us with our arms up)
Garrett swam over to the other side.

 Closer view.

 Garrett hanging out.

We stopped at an open air cafe with an amazing view of the valley.

Patrick loved this fruit sold on every corner. It had a spikey outer shell and a grape like fruit inside.

So, that concludes Costa Rica! What a wonderful trip!

Beautiful. The fruit in the last picture is a lychee (Litchi chinensis) which they call Mamon Chino in Costa Rica. Originally from Asia but cultivated all over the tropics now. I love fruit stands too

You guys are so adventuresome! I'm impressed that you all managed to pack up the kids and take them along too. What a grand experience.
