Avery's Arrival

Precious baby Avery is finally here! Jill, despite her best efforts and being 5 days over due, didn't go into labor and was induced. The kids and I hitched a ride with my parents down to Ft. Lauderdale a few days before the induction. She had an ultrasound a few days before her induction and the baby was already weighing 8lbs 15oz. The doctor was concerned but allowed Jill a trial of labor. It was fun to be there for the entire process. Her labor progressed through out the day. I enjoyed being there supporting her and also being her second nurse. The staff was very nice letting me help out and be involved. Unfortunately, after pushing for an hour with no progress, a c-section was called. Jill and everyone else were very disappointed, but she gave it her best and there was nothing else anyone could've done. Jill was such a champ in labor and during the surgery. The doctor let me into the OR as well. It was such a great experience being there with Jill and watching her daughter being born. She has taken wonderful pictures at my deliveries and I was happy to return the favor so she and Richard could enjoy the moment. Avery arrived April 24th at 8:16 pm weighing a whopping 9lbs 8oz! No wonder! Jill is recovering nicely and Avery is a dark haired beauty. Richard and Jill are already wonderful parents and Avery is one lucky girl! Congratulations!

Wow! I can't believe little Jill had such a whopper! How fun you got to help. Congratulations to her and Richard and to the proud grandparents. Hope I get to see her when she comes to Tally!
