We got a call a few days ago from the Air Force saying we were no longer needed at our new assignment at Moody AFB (Valdosta, GA). We were devastated and they didn't tell us where we would be going instead but we figured the odds of it being a better place were extremely low and the chances of it being near family or in a good city was slim. We were expecting to be assigned to no where Nebraska or North Dakota. And then a miracle occurred and we were informed our new assignment is
Tyndall AFB in Panama City, FL!
This is really incredible! We are still close to my family (2 hrs) and now in a beautiful beach town! We are so excited. The base is on a barrier island off the coast with 12 miles of undeveloped beaches. Patrick can walk out of the clinic and have lunch on the beach. Panama City is a popular tourist destination, where I spent many high school Spring Breaks. The beach is pure white sand and the water is crystal clear. I'm looking forward to sunny days and mild temperatures. It is a small town but because of the tourism, it has every restaurant, tons of shopping, and other attractions. We are hoping to have many visitors so start your planning!

well that's pretty lucky!! Way better than fargo, North Dakota or Omaha, Nebraska, right?
congratulations, guys-oh and I googled Panama City Beach--I honestly didn't know that kind of water/beach existed on the mainland. seriously gorgeous!!
