We have a tween in the house! One more year before we are parents to a teenager! This year Ayden's birthday fell on Easter weekend which made it full of celebration. She has changed so much this year in many ways. She hit a huge growth spurt this year, growing a ton and skipping 3 shoe sizes! (she now wears the same size as her momma) She's been a champ at tackling middle school and keeping track of all her assignments in her various classes. She also has enjoyed and excelled in violin in her orchestra class. The hybrid schedule has been a bummer for her first year of middle school but she has made the best of it and is making new friends. We are proud of her for all that she does and continues to do.
She wanted a Blizzard for her birthday treat.
Ayden is all about friends, friends, friends. She wanted to do dinner, a treat, and craft night with a few friends for her birthday.
Darcy, Addy, Ayden, Brynne, and Lucy.
A collage of the kids....
Ayden's new piano teacher is a member of the DEMTA (Douglas Elbert Music Teachers Association) which provides students opportunities to perform and compete in festivals for points, recognitions, and awards. This allows students to perform at a higher level and also set goals for higher achievement. Ayden participated in Festival this year. The requirement is 2 memorized pieces performed live in front of a judge. Those that receive the highest rating are invited to play in the honors concert and receive Honors for Festival.
This year, due to covid, festival was recorded by the piano teacher and submitted to the judge.
Above are her performances.
Ayden received Honors for her piece Stars and Wind.
Side note- the kids really made me feel special for Mother's Day this year. They went all out with decorations, presents, special treatment, and lots of loves.
