Home Sweet Aislin

When Aislin came home, we didn't skip a beat! We had to jump right back into things: Patrick took one day off of work and then it was back to reality with school, soccer, piano, and a new baby. It definitely has been an adjustment since this is the first baby I've had with kids in all day school and extra activities. It's busy, but we are settling in to our new life.

Baby yawns

Aislin must've had her ankles crossed in the womb because she keeps resuming the position!

She even recreated a womb space for herself with her limbs tucked in nicely.

Love those baby noises.

Raegan helped me with Aislin's first bath.

Precious face.

Neck rolls!

Aislin started to wake up a bit more after about a week.

She also never liked laying flat so we propped her up with a pillow. Long story short: needing to be elevated, lots of crying, lots of spitting up, no napping = reflux!

Raegan, who is not a fan of the crying, tries to sing to Aislin to soothe her.

Sweet lil pumpkin.

Peaceful and precious after eating.

A typical face.

Long eyelashes growing in.

The kids always beg to hold her.

All smiles after the reflux meds start working!

Don't want to forget those baby sounds.

A month later she still loves those legs crossed.

One month already!
We got off to a rocky start when Aislin wasn't gaining as much weight as the Dr. preferred. We had to go in for weight checks every other day for 10 days but then she caught up. She eats about every 3 hours and has become a better nurser although she bobs on and off. Aislin is awake quite a bit during the day but sleeps well in the night, waking about once in the middle and occasionally sleeping until 5am. She was diagnosed with reflux (at 6 weeks) once her symptoms progressively got worse. Since her medication she has become more pleasant, crying less and sleeping a bit more during the day which hopefully will improve. At 6 weeks she was up to 9lb 1oz and 21 inches. She's getting some light behind her eyes and we can't get enough of her cute face!
